The mission of Char Bucha's Community Outreach is to provide practical support, meaningful resources, and uplifting experiences that strengthen families and build a more connected community. Through acts of service, community partnerships, and outreach initiatives, we are committed to bringing hope, encouragement, and opportunities to those we serve throughout Northwest Indiana.
OUR STORY
Char Bucha's Community Outreach is a Northwest Indiana-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by Charmaine Buchanan after God placed it on her heart to give back to the community in a meaningful way. What began as a personal commitment to serve others has grown into a thriving organization dedicated to making a lasting impact in the lives of families throughout the region.
Each year, Char Bucha's hosts a free Christmas Celebration open to the public, providing food, entertainment, gifts, and memorable experiences for children and families. Through the support of dedicated volunteers, generous sponsors, and community partners, this event has brought joy, hope, and encouragement to hundreds of families.
Fueled by faith, guided by compassion, and rooted in service, Char Bucha's Community Outreach continues to create opportunities for families to feel supported, valued, and celebrated. Our goal is to strengthen communities by meeting practical needs, fostering meaningful connections, and planting seeds of hope that inspire positive change for generations to come.

Charmaine Buchanan
Charmaine Buchanan founded Char Bucha's Community Outreach with a passion for serving others and strengthening her community. What began as a desire to give back has grown into a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing hope, resources, and meaningful experiences to families throughout Northwest Indiana.
